Every card, scored in every position and role it can play, on what actually makes it good in-game: not just its overall rating.
Meta Score rates how strong a card is in a specific role, with its best chemistry style, on a scale from 0 to 99.9. Each card gets one score per role it can play, and the card shows its best one.
OVR only averages attributes. On top of attributes, Meta Score counts PlayStyles and PlayStyles+, AcceleRATE, height, preferred foot, weak foot, skill moves and Role+ / Role++ familiarity.
A Poacher and a Deep-Lying Playmaker need different things. Every role has its own weights, so attributes that don't matter in a role don't inflate its score.
Each card is scored with every chemistry style at full chemistry, including the AcceleRATE changes they cause, and the best one counts.
The FUTMind team tunes the weights in versioned updates. New, stronger cards don't lower existing scores: a score only changes when the card is upgraded or the weights are updated.
Raphinha has a lower OVR than Diego Armando Maradona but scores higher in the Playmaker role. Before you spend coins on an upgrade, compare the Meta Score of cards in the same position.
These are the best chemistry styles for Mia Hamm in the Advanced Forward role, with the gain over playing without a chemistry style. The best one is Hunter.
Franz Beckenbauer is listed as CB (90.5) but scores best in the CDM Deep-Lying Playmaker role (95.4). Across all their roles the score goes from 83.7 to 95.4.
Two evolution paths can end with the same OVR and still make a very different player. The evolution preview shows the card's Meta Score before and after the evolution, so you can see which upgrades actually help.

Only in-game numbers count. An Icon and a gold card with the same attributes, PlayStyles and roles get the same score.
Tactics, formations and personal feel matter. Use Meta Score to shortlist, then trust what works for you.
A FUTMind rating from 0 to 99.9 of how strong an EA FC Ultimate Team card is in a specific position and role, with its best chemistry style.
A card gets a score for every role of every position it can play. The card shows its best one.
Yes. Every chemistry style is tested at full chemistry, and the score uses the best one for that role.
They are EA's role familiarity bonuses. A card with Role+ or Role++ in a role gets a higher score in that role, more for Role++.
Yes. OVR ignores PlayStyles, AcceleRATE, skill moves, weak foot and how attributes matter in each role, so a lower-rated card with the right mix often scores higher.
Only when the card itself changes (an upgrade or evolution) or when the FUTMind team updates the weights. New, stronger cards don't lower the scores of existing ones.
Roughly. Scores are on the same scale, but comparing cards in the same position or role is the most reliable.
OVR is EA's weighted average of attributes for one position. FUTMind's Meta Score is a rating per role that also includes PlayStyles, AcceleRATE, skill moves, weak foot, role familiarity and chemistry styles.
