FC 26 2x 79+ Upgrade SBC: How to Complete, Costs, and Pack Rewards
The 2x 79+ Upgrade has officially landed in FC 26 Ultimate Team, providing a fantastic opportunity for players to turn their low-rated gold items into something far more useful. This early-cycle SBC is a staple for veteran players who know that building a strong foundation often starts with efficient club management. By submitting a squad of fringe players, you can secure a pack that guarantees a baseline rating, which is essential for hitting those high-rated 'fodder' cards or even a meta-defining starter for your squad.

Requirements
- •Player Quality: Exactly Gold
As seen in the requirements above, the barrier to entry for this challenge is remarkably low. This makes it an ideal 'club-scrubbing' exercise. Instead of letting low-rated common or rare gold cards sit idle in your club, you can recycle them here. Since the SBC is repeatable up to 3 times, you have multiple chances to test your luck before the expiration date on September 28, 2026.
Cost Analysis and Market Value
Currently, the estimated cost to complete one instance of this SBC is approximately 6,000 on PlayStation and Xbox, while it sits around 6,200 for PC users. The 3,308 potential from the 2x 79+ Gold Players Pack can vary wildly, but the floor is much higher than a standard gold pack. In the early weeks of FC 26, any card rated 83 or above often carries a premium price tag, making this SBC a mathematically sound gamble if you use untradeable cards.
- Focus on using untradeable cards first to keep your liquid coin balance high.
- Don't overspend on the transfer market to complete this; if you don't have the players, wait for other rewards.
- Use the high-rated duplicates you might pull from these packs to fund more expensive SBCs.
Why This SBC Matters in the Early Game
Historically, upgrade packs like these are the primary way players engage with the menu system during promotional windows. Even if there isn't a major promo active right now, the sheer density of 79 to 82 rated players in the database means that removing the sub-79 cards from the equation significantly increases your chances of hitting an 84+ 'walkout'. This is especially useful for completing the first few sets of Marquee Matchups or Player of the Month challenges that require higher team ratings.
