Is the Gold Upgrade SBC Worth It?
Analyzing the value of the Gold Upgrade is all about looking at the pack weight and the current market. By submitting a squad of 11 Gold players, you receive a Small Gold Players Pack. Currently, the estimated cost to complete this SBC is approximately 7,200 on consoles and 7,200 on PC. When you compare this to the 3,255 value of the rewards, the primary benefit isn't necessarily the immediate coin return, but the chance to hit 'big' players while clearing out untradeable common golds that would otherwise sit unused in your club.
Strategic Tips for Unlimited Grinding
Because this SBC is repeatable an unlimited number of times, it is often referred to as a 'grind.' During major promotions like Team of the Year (TOTY) or Team of the Season (TOTS), many players use the Gold Upgrade to cycle through hundreds of common gold cards. The goal is to generate Rare Gold players who can then be used in more expensive, limited-time SBCs or high-value player upgrades. It is generally recommended to only use non-rare gold cards for this challenge to keep your rare cards for more specific requirements.
- Use untradeable common gold players first to maximize profit margins.
- Save your completed packs for when a major promo team is in packs.
- Avoid using players from major leagues or popular nations if they are currently needed for Marquee Matchups.
