FC 27 Ultimate Team: How to Complete the 83+ Upgrade SBC
By Alfie Carrington••3 min read
A new era of content has arrived in FC 27 Ultimate Team with the release of the 83+ Upgrade. This SBC introduces players to the innovative score-based system, a significant departure from the traditional squad-building mechanics we have seen in previous years. Instead of worrying about complex chemistry links, specific leagues, or matching nations, you are now tasked with reaching a specific grading score. It is a streamlined way to recycle your club items and hunt for high-rated cards to bolster your starting eleven.
Understanding the New Score-Based SBC Mechanic
In FC 27, score-based Squad Building Challenges (SBC) simplify the submission process. Every player item in the game now carries a fixed grading score based on their Overall Rating (OVR). To complete the 83+ Upgrade, you must submit players until their combined grading scores meet or exceed the total requirement of 2500. There are no requirements for chemistry, positions, or leagues. As long as the players you submit have a minimum OVR of 45, they will contribute toward the total score. This makes the SBC incredibly accessible for those with a deep club of bronze and silver items.

Cost Analysis and Rewards Value
When looking at the market value, the 83+ Upgrade is currently priced at approximately 2,600 on Console and 2,750 on PC. The reward for your efforts is an 83+ Gold Player Pack, which has an estimated value of 2,887. Since the reward value is higher than the completion cost, this SBC represents excellent value for money. The goal is to reach the 2500 score requirement using the most cost-effective combination of players. Usually, submitting several lower-rated golds or high-rated silvers is the most efficient way to hit the target without depleting your high-rated fodder.

The primary appeal of the 83+ Gold Player Pack is the potential to pull a high-end walkout or a current promo item. With a guaranteed minimum rating of 83, you eliminate the risk of getting very low-rated common golds. These packs are perfect for building up your club for more expensive player SBCs later in the week. Given that this specific challenge is repeatable once, it is a low-risk opportunity to test your luck with the new submission system.
- Focus on using untradeable players first to keep your coin balance healthy.
- Check the grading score of your 75-81 rated players; they often provide the best value-to-score ratio.
- Ensure all submitted players meet the minimum OVR requirement of 45.
- Complete the SBC before the expiration date on 2026-10-06.
